Is Plastic Surgery Really Worth it?

So this evening I have been discussing the Infamous Plastic Surgery of Heidi Pratt with Zoe (Zoella280390) and Shirley (shirleybeniang) and I it inspired me to write this post.

What an earth propelled a gorgeous young women who is 'happily' married to go through plastic surgery, let alone to the extremes in which she went! (10 Procedures in ONE DAY)

This brings me to explain my own opinions on plastic surgery. I am certainly not against it by any means, in fact I have always wanted it. I have always been incredibly self conscious and it has effected important areas of my life so there is always a part of me that feels plastic surgery would solve this. The logical side knows different, PLASTIC SURGERY alone cannot make you happy.

If I ever decided to go ahead with plastic surgery (MONEY NO OBJECT) I imagine I would get breast implants, rhinoplasticity and lip injections. But where does it end...would I then go on to get venners, upper eyelid lift's and liposuction?? Do I really want to be fake? Do I want to end up in a relationship with someone who is attracted to my fake breasts instead of my brain??

Personally I think Heidi looks awful...she looks fake and plastic!! In the words of Zoe 'She has the life sucked out of her' I also think she must have some serious psychological issues if she feels the need to transform herself in such an extreme way! (We all know Michael Jackson wasn't exactly sane)

Having thought about the cost, pain, risks (disfigurement and even death!) and possibly psychological trauma I am certainly putting of the idea of surgery for a good few years. At 18 I need to learn to accept and love myself just the way I am. NO I AM NOT PERFECT but I am the way I am!
I think we are all beautiful naturally....it all comes from within!! And if you need any help there is always make up!! :)

If you are thinking about Plastic Surgery please be careful, talk to a doctor and think it through! It is permanent!! BE SAFE!!
Don't forget to tell me your opinions on Heidi&Surgery

I agree 100%!

There's nothing wrong with having procedures done, but i think people should really re-evaluate themselves first. Look for areas in their lives that are lacking, and work in it...
It has to be a combination of things...Mentally, Spiritually etc. before considering Plastic Surgery.

I think plastic surgery in moderation is ok but what Heidi did was OVERBOARD. To have your back bone moved to make your back look more curvy is just in sane. I don't think she looks 23 anymore. She looks about 43 trying to be 23. What she had done really aged her. She now talks like she is duped up on drugs...so let's just hope she doesn't get addicted to pain pills as well. I think she is delusional to say she's only had one surgery... she had 10... just because she went under once doesn't make it once... it makes it 10. I feel bad for her and her parents must be so sad.

That video is really shocking! I can't believe how different she looks and in my opinion, she looked so much nicer pre-surgery.
I kind of feel as though when women have had surgery on their faces they all start to look the same? I guess it's just because it's so fake & plastic, but the shapes always seem to be so similar.
I also agree with the comment above about looking 43 trying to be 23, the more you try to make yourself look younger, all you do is make it more obvious that you are older. I think that a 60 year old woman who has looked after her skin & is happy with being 60 is more likely than not to look younger than a 60 year old woman who has had endless procedures.
Not keen on the whole plastic-chic myself.

actually makes me want to cry, that she had to go that far. Im sure we are all far from knowing who the hills characters actually are, but from what you saw, espically in the early seasons, is that Heidi would have never even thought about it. she was more than beautiful then, and even last year (with just her nose&boobs?) done she looks great! shes gone way too far, and i really just wanna cry!
I think it must be something to do with Spencer, because none of this happened before him. but she obv has it in her head that she needs more and more.
and have my boobs reduced, maybe some botox, thats all! I wouldnt touch my nose, even tho I dont really like it, a nose job scares the hell out of me!
Great post Onna

I had my ears pinned back in December 2008, I was 16 and it was probably the best decision I've ever made. I had it done because I never felt like I could tie my hair up without people staring and making comments, and throughout primary and even sometimes in secondary school people would make snide remarks and it dented my self confidence more than I could even begin to explain. My mom also had her ears pinned back in her 30's and she's always told me how she can't look at her wedding photos because her ears are sticking out of her hair and she hates the way she looked.
My ears are not completely back, but to be honest, I think I prefer them the way they are. I can tie my hair up now without being self-conscious. I had my ears pierced as soon as the bandages came off, which I never would have done before because I never wanted to draw attention to them!
Getting back to Heidi though, I think she looked so beautiful before the surgery, and even though she says she thinks she looks perfect now, I can bet that in a few years, maybe even months, she'll find something else to criticise and want it fixed.
She still doesn't look happy, whether that's to do with the fact she can't move her face I don't know, but I don't think she'll ever get to be 'perfection' as we all know, there's no such thing as perfect.
I just hope that she doesn't go to even bigger extremes in the future and become more unrecognisable than she is now.
That's a really good post Onna, and I think anyone who is considering having surgery should watch that video and just be aware of how addictive it could become.
Sorry for the long comment, once I start it seems I can't stop haha.

She is still a beautiful woman, but she looked prettier before. Now you can see things have been done on her face. Sad... She needs therapy. I hope she finds balance in her life and loses Spencer.

i really can't believe how different and almost unrecognisable she looks i think she has ruined her looks i thought she was beautiful before but now she just looks like any other "celebrity" who have gone too far with surgery and ruined her looks!! and to have 10 different surgeries in 10 hours is just selfish and irresponsable if she had died then she would have left behind a husband and family and all for surgery!! i know other people won't agree with what i'm saying but honestly does it really make her look any better? sorry for my little rant but i just don't think it's right?!

Thats shocking! She looks so different. I do agree with what heidi did,to some extent.. i think it would had been fine for her to get her nose or chin fixed, because she truly didn't like them.. and i can see how that would effect her confidence, especially while shes in the public eye. But i don't think half of the things she had done where really nessesary.. she used to look real& gorgeous, now she looks plastic&fake. and she put herself through so much pain, basically for nothing! x

True. Plastic surgery alone will not make a person happy. It's just a means, a tool that can help you in your journey. Indeed, it's permanent, but growing up is a permanent thing as well.

A person may freely choose to have it or refuse it. In the end, one is ultimately responsible for their actions.
