Safety Online & Haters

I wanted to do a quick post on this really randomly - I think its a really important subject. I think especially if you are under 18 and putting yourself out there on the web you NEED to be careful and not reveal personal information about yourself.

There are so many lovely people online but there are also a lot of creepy horrible people so please be careful.

I know this is complete basic but even if you have seen a picture of the person this can be fake. It is different meeting up with bloggers in PUBLIC places, when you have seen numerous pictures and videos of them, but you should always still be careful!

Also some 'anonymous' Formspringer seems very angry at the fact that when I first started YouTubing I would not reveal where I lived or my Date of Birth. Now at the time I was under 18 and my Dad would only let me online if I stuck to those rules - which is my opinion is completely fair and sensible. Especially since my name is so rare - I'm not exactly hard to find.

I told people I was 18/19 when I was 16/17ish. [Cant remember exactly] Now I'm older and much more confident online I'm happy to be honest about my age, I'm 18 and I turn 19 in August. I live in the South West of England and Yes I still wont tell random online strangers where I live. I honestly don't feel like I have anything to apologise for. I was being a sensible, safe teenager and anyone who has a problem with that can bugger off!! :)

Much Love,

haha @anonymous I didnt get found out - after I turned 18 I told everyone and that was nearly a year ago - arent you a little behind? and I'm not hiding everyone knows exactly how old I am - not that anyone should feel like they have to tell people that if they dont want to. And your leaving an anonymous comment - arent your hiding?

Oh my goodness, this anonymous person likes to follow you around!

Not quite sure what the fascination is with your age anyway, does it really matter?

Staying safe online is so important! good post lovely!

Oh my golly, this post has made me so much more aware of the bits I knew already but had practically forgotten. Thank you so much, I can't literally thank you enough. That vital, important information that you've stated in this post, I really should be thinking about at all times when writing my blog especially at my young, vunerable age. Wow, thank you!
Lots of love,

I totally agree, I'm always cautious when I reveal certain info about myself even if I am older. Plus the creepy messages I get on formspring just proves to be even more of a reason for me to not reveal too much about myself.

It's quite ironic that the cray cray made it to this post though.
